Ally Loprete is a self-employed parent who wants other parents to know if you are aching to stay-at-home but worried about losing your income, there are some options available to help.
Ally hosts the National Radio show "The Little Parent Stayed Home" and founded the website ourmilkmoney.com. She shares her ideas with Guy and Melissa.
She also suggests asking yourself these questions:
1. Is telecommuting an option?
2. What am I doing for my employer that I could be doing for myself?
3. What are my skills?
4. What is my situation?
5. Do the math!
A Collaborative Plan to Bring Parents Home
1. Support parents who have chosen to stay home by purchasing their products and services.
2. Provide community with the skills already honed.
3. Follow guidelines for doing business at the home based level.
Guidelines for Self-Employed Parents
1. Do business with other parents
2. Family comes first; Business comes second
3. Never apologize for your kids
